齐建元元年（479年）置，属东官郡（1）。治所即今广东省陆丰县北大安镇（2）。梁太平元年（556年）废（3）。

（1），《南齐书》卷14?广州东官郡，领有陆安县。（北京，中华书局，1972年，1册，263页）。
《嘉庆一统志》卷445?惠州府?古迹?陆安废县：“在海丰县东南。齐置，属东官郡。梁陈间废。唐初复置，属循州，贞观元年省入海丰。《舆地纪胜》，唐陆安县在海丰县东七十里。县志，今为大安屯，有墟。”（《四部丛刊续编》，商务印书馆，1934年，166册）。据此作齐建元元年置。
（2），《舆地纪胜》卷99?广南东路?惠州?古迹：“唐陆安县城，在海丰东七十里。《唐志》云，武德五年分县地置，贞观初后并入，此城遂废。”（北京，中华书局，1992年，4册，3090页）。参见注（1），故址即今广东省陆丰县北大安镇。
