齐建元元年（479年）分博罗县置，属南海郡（1）。治所在今广东省博罗县西龙华镇（2）。梁太平元年（556年）废（3）。

（1），《南齐书》卷14?广州南海郡，领有罗阳县。（北京，中华书局，1972年，1册，262页）。
《嘉庆一统志》卷445?惠州府?古迹?罗阳废县：“在博罗县西南。南齐时分博罗县地置，属南海郡。梁陈间废。唐初复置，属循州，贞观元年省入博罗。旧志，在博罗县西四十里罗汉溪之南。”（《四部丛刊续编》，商务印书馆，1934年，166册）。据此作齐建元元年置。
（2），据注1《嘉庆一统志》，在博罗县西四十里罗汉溪之南，姑定于今博罗县西四十里龙华镇。
（3），据注1《嘉庆一统志》梁陈间废，作废于梁末太平元年。",
