南朝陈以攸县改名。⑴治所在今湖南攸县东攸水东侧。⑵属湘东郡。隋开皇九年（589）平陈，废入湘潭县。⑶
⑴臧励和，《补陈疆域志》卷3：“攸水，本汉攸县。《方舆纪要》：以水名。陈改曰攸水。”（北京，中华书局，《二十五史补编》，第4册，4463页。）
按：暂作陈永定元年（557）年改名。
⑵《水经》卷39《洣水注》：“西北流经攸县北，县北带攸溪，盖即溪以名县也，汉武帝元朔四年，封长沙定王子则为攸舆侯，即《地理志》所谓攸县者也。”（江苏古籍出版社，《水经注疏》，下册，第3221页）
嘉庆《清一统志》卷355《长沙府二》：“攸县故城，在今县东。汉置，属长沙国。”（第132册，第3页）
按：汉代攸县故城，史无明确记载。按《水经注》记载，参考今地形图，当在今攸县治东面的攸水与洣水交汇处以东的平原上。确切地点待考，图上定点为示意性质。
