唐武德三年（620年）复置丹阳县，属扬州。①治所即今安徽当涂县丹阳镇。②贞观元年（627年）省入当涂。③
①《旧唐书》卷《地理志三》：润州上元“（武德）三年於县置扬州，……八年……扬州领金陵、句容、丹阳、溧水六县。九年，扬州移治江都，……丹阳、溧阳、溧水三县属宣州。”（第五册，1584页）宣州：“（武德）九年，移扬州於江都，以溧阳、溧水、丹阳来属。”（1601页）武德六年扬州领丹阳，则丹阳必复于此前，当在武德三年李氏据有江南时。
②《清嘉庆一统志》第40册，卷120《太平府一古迹》：“丹阳故城，在当涂县东。……《括地志》丹阳故城在江宁县东南五十里。《九域志》：当涂县有丹阳镇，即故县也。《建康志》：小丹阳，在江宁县横山乡，陶吴镇西南十里，与当涂县接界。《县志》：丹阳镇在今县东少北五十里，与江宁县接界。”今当涂县东北丹阳镇即是。
③《旧唐书》卷《地理志三》：宣州“（武德）九年，移扬州于江都，以溧阳、溧水、丹阳来属。贞观元年，罢都督府。废池州，以秋浦、南陵二县来属。省丹阳入当涂县。”（第五册，1063页）",
