约南朝梁大同二年（536年）置，属太原郡，隋开皇九年（589年）废（1）。治今安徽东至县东流镇（2）。
注：
（1） 《隋书》卷31《地理志下》：九江郡，旧置江州。“彭泽，梁置太原郡，领彭泽、晋阳、和城、天水。平陈，郡县并废，置龙城县。开皇十八年改名焉。”（北京，中华书局，1973年，3册，894页。）按：隋平陈在开皇九年。又和城不知何年所置，嘉靖《池州府志》卷1《古迹》：南太原城，“梁大同间废。”（废，当为置之误。《天一阁藏明代方志选刊》，上海书店，24册，24页。）清乾隆四十三年《池州府志》卷1《沿革》：梁大同中侨太原郡。（《中国方志丛书》华中地方636号，成文出版社有限公司，1册，188页。）嘉庆二十三年《东流县志》卷3《沿革考》：《池州府志》云，梁大同二年侨立南太原郡，未知所本。（《中国方志丛书》华中地方643号，成文出版社有限公司，1册，110页。）史未载郡、县具体设置年代，据上，姑作大同二年郡、县并置。
（2） 《清嘉庆一统志》卷118《池州府一·古迹》：东流场“在东流县东北。”唐“建东流场，在古废和城县侧，大中四年移于今理，南唐保大十一年升为县。”（商务印书馆，1934年，《四部丛刊续编》，40册，19页。）1959年东流、至德二县合建为东至县，今东至县北东流镇即原东流县治。",
