约东汉建安五年（200年）孙权分上蔡县置宜丰县，属豫章郡（1），晋同，约南朝宋永初元年（419年）废（2）。治今江西宜丰县北天宝（3）。

（1）《太平寰宇记》卷106《江南西道四》：筠州高安县“丰城县，在州西一百五十里天宝乡，其县吴大帝自上蔡县分置。”（金陵书局，清光绪八年刊本，22页。）《舆地纪胜》卷27：瑞州新昌县“孙权时为宜丰县。”（北京，中华书局，1992年，2册，1208页。）《清嘉庆一统志》卷325《瑞州府·古迹》：宜丰故城“按《寰宇记》有废丰城县，在筠州西百五十里天宝乡，当即宜丰之讹。”（商务印书馆，1934年，《四部丛刊续编》，119册，10页。）按：建安五年，孙策死，孙权立，姑作此年置。
（2）《晋书》卷15《地理志下》。北京，中华书局，1974年，2册，462页。《宋书》卷36《州郡志二》无此县。（北京，中华书局，1974年，4册，1087页。）今作南朝宋初废。
（3）《清嘉庆一统志》卷325《瑞州府·古迹》：宜丰故城，在新昌县北，“县志，宜丰故城，在今县北三十里。”1914年改新昌为宜丰，今宜丰县北有天宝，（上海，中华地图学社，1990年，《江西省地图册》。）里数与史载相当。",
