约东汉建安四年（199年）置上饶县，属豫章郡（1），十五年（210年）属鄱阳郡（2），约晋建兴四年（316年）废（3）。治今江西上饶市（4）。
注：
（1）《三国志》卷60《吴志·贺齐传》：建安八年，出余汗，“十年，转讨上饶，分以为建平县。”（北京，中华书局，1975年，5册，1378页。）杨守敬《三国郡县表附考证》卷7：豫章郡上饶“盖建安初立。”又县见鄱阳郡。（《二十五史补编》，北京，中华书局，1956年，3册，2941-2页。）据上，建安十年已有上饶。按：建安四年孙策定豫章，见《资治通鉴》卷63献帝建安四年。（北京，中华书局，1956年，5册，2021/2页。）今姑作此年置。

（3）《晋书》卷15《地理志下》不载。（北京，中华书局，1974年，2册，462页。）《宋书》卷36《州郡志二》：鄱阳太守上饶“吴立，《太康地志》有，王隐《地道》无。”（北京，中华书局，1974年，4册，1088页。）毕沅《晋太康三年地记》有。（商务印书馆，《丛书集成初编》，29页。）按：《晋志》州县大致以太康三年为断，则《晋志》缺载，王隐《晋书》撰于太兴初（318年后），已属东晋，见《晋书》卷82《王隐传》。（7册，2143页。）今作西晋有，末年（建兴四年）废。
（4）《清嘉庆一统志》卷314《广信府一·城池》：广信府城，宋明以来因旧址修筑。上饶县附郭。（商务印书馆，1934年，《四部丛刊续编》，115册，3页。）又卷315《广信府二·古迹》：上饶故县“在府城西北天津桥之原，孙权始置于此。唐乾元初再置，宋因之，元末毁于兵，明洪武三年徙今治，今社稷坛即其故址。”（1页。）则城址古今无变化。1950年城区设市。",
