（1）《旧唐书》卷40《地理志三·江南西道》抚州：“隋临川郡，武德五年（622年），讨平林士弘，置抚州，领临川、……永城、东兴、将乐八县。”（北京，中华书局，1975年，5册，1607页）《太平寰宇记》卷106《江南西道八·建昌军》南城县：“唐武德五年（622年），依旧置永城、东兴二县。”（金陵书局，光绪八年刊本，21册，11、8页）按：当从南城县分置。
（2）李贤等撰《大明一统志》卷53《江西·建昌府·古迹》废永城县：“在新城县北三里，地名城头。”（西安，三秦出版社，1990年，下册，836页）据牛平汉《明代政区沿革综表》谓，清新城县即今江西黎川县。（北京，中国地图出版社，1997年，154页）1987年《黎川县地名志》之《黎川县历史沿革表》谓故永城县治即今日峰镇（黎川县治）田东湾村。（《黎川县地名志》办公室，1987年，3页）据其图，在县治北数里，当是则故永城县治在今江西黎川县北田东湾村。
