南朝宋永初元年（420年）改永成县置，属临川郡。（1）治所在今江西黎川县北田东湾村。（2）齐、梁、陈不改。（3）隋开皇九年（589年）废入南城县。（4）
注：
（1）《宋书》卷36《州郡志二·江州》：临川内史领有永城县。（北京,中华书局,1974年,4册,1089页）。按：此时临川王国作临川郡处理。又何时由永成改为永城，未详。姑作南朝宋永初元年（420年）又名永城县。
（2）李贤等撰《大明一统志》卷53《江西·建昌府·古迹》废永城县：“在新城县北三里，地名城头。”（西安，三秦出版社，1990年，下册，836页）据牛平汉《明代政区沿革综表》谓，清新城县即今江西黎川县。（北京，中国地图出版社，1997年，154页）1987年《黎川县地名志》之《黎川县历史沿革表》谓故永城县治即今日峰镇（黎川县治）田东湾村。（《黎川县地名志》办公室，1987年，3页）据其图，在县治北数里，当是则故永城县治在今江西黎川县北田东湾村。
