西晋泰始元年（265年）改永城县置，属临川郡。（1）治所在今江西黎川县北田东湾村。（2）南朝宋永初元年（420年）又名永城县。（3）

（1）《晋书》卷15《地理志下》：临川郡领有永成县。（北京,中华书局,1974年,2册,462页）清曹养恒等修《南城县志》卷1《沿革》：三国吴太平二年，“分南城东南境为南丰、、东兴、永城三县，刘宋因之。”（《中国方志丛书》，台湾成文出版社,据清康熙十九年刊本影印，1989年，817册，46页）按：本永城县，何时改名，未详。姑作西晋泰始元年（265年）改名永成县。
(2)李贤等撰《大明一统志》卷53《江西·建昌府·古迹》废永城县：“在新城县北三里，地名城头。”（西安，三秦出版社，1990年，下册，836页）据牛平汉《明代政区沿革综表》谓，清新城县即今江西黎川县。（北京，中国地图出版社，1997年，154页）1987年《黎川县地名志》之《黎川县历史沿革表》谓故永城县治即今日峰镇（黎川县治）田东湾村。（《黎川县地名志》办公室，1987年，3页）据其图，在县治北数里，当是则故永城县治在今江西黎川县北田东湾村。永成县也当治此。
（3）《宋书》卷36《州郡志二·江州》：临川内史领有永城县。（北京,中华书局,1974年,4册,1089页）。按：何时由永成改为永城，未详。姑作南朝宋永初元年（420年）又名永城县。",
