南宋嘉定四年（1211年）改上猶县置，属南安军。（1）治所即今江西上犹县。（2）元至元十四年（1277年）改属南安路。（3）至元十六年（1279年）改名永清县。（4）

（3）《元史》卷62《地理志五·江西等处行中书省》南安路：“宋以（大庾）县置南安军。元至元十四年（1277年），改南安路总管府。”领有上猶县。（北京，中华书局，1976年，5册，1514页）而清陈奕禧《南安府志》（一）卷2《地舆志上·沿革》谓“至元十三年改南安路”。（《中国方志丛书》，台湾成文出版社,据清康熙四十九年刊本影印，1989年，808册，108页）与之小异。
