雍正三年（1725年）八月，升柳州府宾州为直隶州，析柳州府属来宾、武宣、迁江、上林四县来属1。领来宾、武宣、迁江、上林四县。州治即今广西宾阳县东北新宾镇。辖境相当今广西宾阳，上林，合山，武宣，来宾等县市地以及忻城县西南部2。雍正八年（1730年），析武宣县属浔州府，境域缩小3。

1，《嘉庆一统志》卷465?思恩府?建置沿革?宾州：“明初以州治岭方县省入，属柳州府。本朝雍正三年，升为直隶州，领迁江、上林、来宾、武宣四县。十二年改属思恩府。”（《四部丛刊续编》，商务印书馆，1934年，176册）。
