唐建中元年（780年）复以思唐羁縻州为正州1。领武郎、平原二县。州治武郎县，治所即今广西平南县西北国安乡。辖境相当今广西平南县西北部和金秀县南部地区2。宋开宝四年（971年）更名思明州（仅更名一年，不处理）。五年（972年）州废，平原县并入武郎县改属龚州3。

1，《唐书》卷43上?地理七上?思唐州武郎郡：“永隆二年，析龚、蒙、象三州置。开元二十四年为羁縻州，建中元年为正州。…。县二：武郎；思和，本平原，长庆三年更名。”（中华书局，1975年，5册，1108页）。
2，据所领县故址及其后政区变迁和《一统志》广西各县沿革，并参考光绪《广西舆地图》，辖境相当今广西平南县西北部和金秀县南部地区2。
3，《太平寰宇记》卷168岭南道2龚州武郎县：“废平原县，在武郎西南八十里，皇朝开宝五年并入武郎，属龚州，仍废州。废思明州，旧名思唐州武郎郡，皇朝开宝四年平南越，改为思明州，至是废入龚州。”（金陵书局，光绪八年刊本，28册）。
《宋史》卷90?地理六?龚州：“开宝五年废阳川、武林、隋建、大同四县（《纪胜》作六年废入平南县）。政和元年州废，隶浔州，三年复。绍兴六年复废，仍隶浔州。县一：平南，开宝五年以思明州之武郎来属，嘉祐二年废武郎县入焉。”（中华书局，1977年，7册，2242页）。",
