王莽天凤元年（14年），以苍梧郡更名（1）。领广信，谢沐，高要，封阳，临贺，端溪，冯乘，富川，荔浦，猛陵等县。郡治广信县，治所即今广西梧州市。辖境主体在广西，其广东部分东界在在连山西界，怀集中部，封开、德庆、高要、高明诸县的东界；南界在高明、云浮、罗定、信宜诸县南界（2）。更始元年（23年），复名苍梧郡（3）。
