宋绍兴元年（1131年），以康州升为德庆府（1）。领端溪，泷水二县。府治端溪县，治所即今广东省德庆县。辖境相当今广东省德庆县，郁南县，罗定县和云浮县都骑、大云雾山一线以西地区以及信宜县蚊子坑、凤凰岭、怀乡街、湘垌、石人顶、坑尾一线以东北地区（2）。绍兴七年（1137）废封州，以封川，开建二县来属，境域扩大。绍兴十年（1140年），复析封川、开建二县置封州，境域缩小。元至元十七年（1280年）改为德庆路（3）。

（1），《宋史》卷90?地理六?广南东路?德庆府：本康州。“绍兴元年，以高宗潜邸，升为府。十四年，置永庆军节度。县二：端溪；泷水。”（北京，中华书局，1977年，7册，2238页）。
（2），所领端溪，泷水二县，包括废入端溪和泷水的故县故址，据此并参考宣统元年《广东舆地全图》，辖境相当今广东省德庆县，郁南县，罗定县和云浮县都骑、大云雾山一线以西地区以及信宜县蚊子坑、凤凰岭、怀乡街、湘垌、石人顶、坑尾一线以东北地区。
（3），《元史》卷62?地理五?江西等处行中书省?广东道宣慰使司都元帅府?德庆路：“唐初为南康州，又名康州，又改晋康郡。宋升德庆府。元至元十三年，徇广州，既取广州，而德庆未下。十四年，广西宣慰司以兵取之，改隶广西道。十七年，立德庆路总管府，后仍隶广东道。”领县二：端溪、泷水。（中华书局，1976年，5册，1516页）。",
