明洪武九年（1376年）改广东等处行中书省置，治广州府（今广东广州市）。（1）领有广州、肇庆、韶州、南雄、惠州、潮州、高州、雷州、琼州等府。十四年（1381年）增领廉州府（从雷州府分出）。（2）嘉靖四十一年（1562年），潮州府平远县改属江西赣州府。（3）
