北宋熙宁五年（1072年）淮南路复分为东、西路（1）。西路治寿州（今安徽凤台县），领寿州、庐州、蕲州、和州、舒州、濠州、光州、黄州、无为军（2）。元丰元年（1078年）复与淮南西路合并为淮南路（3）。
