唐广德二年（764年）改安南节度使置。（1）治交州（今越南河内市）。领交、陆……等州。（2）大历元年（766年）改名安南都防御、观察、经略使。（3）
注：
（1）《新唐书》卷69《方镇表六》广德二年（764年）：“改安南节度使为镇南大都护、都防御、观察、经略使。”（北京，中华书局，1975年，6册，1937页）故作由安南节度使改为镇南都防御、观察、经略使。而《旧唐书》卷41《地理志四?岭南道》安南都督府：安南都护府，“至德二年（757年）九月，改为镇南都护府。”（北京，中华书局，1975年，5册，1749页）与之异。
（2）《新唐书》卷69《方镇表六》天宝十载（751年）：“置安南管内经略使，领交、陆、峰、爱、驩、长、福禄、芝、武峨、演、武安十一州，治交州（今越南河南市）。（北京，中华书局，1975年，6册，1933页）《新唐书》卷43上《地理志七上?岭南道》安南中都护府所领基本同，只多一汤州。（4册，1112——1115页）按：镇南都防御、观察、经略使本安南节度使、安南管内经略使。现虽改名，其治所及所领州当不改，即治交州（今越南河南市）。领交、陆……等州。
（3）《新唐书》卷69《方镇表六》大历元年（766年）：“更镇南曰安南。”（北京，中华书局，1975年，6册，1937页）按：本镇南都防御、观察、经略使，现当改为安南都防御、观察、经略使。",
