唐乾元二年（759年）改容州管内经略使置。（1）治容州（普宁郡，今广西北流县）。领容州（普宁郡）……窦州（怀德郡）、廉州（合浦郡）、辩州（陵水郡）等州。（2）上元元年（760年）升为容管观察使。（3）
注：
（1）《新唐书》卷69《方镇表六》乾元二年（759年）：“容州管内经略使增领都防御使。”又上元元年（760年）曰：“升容州经略都防御使为观察使。”（北京，中华书局，1975年，6册，1936页）按：故作乾元二年（759年）改为容州经略都防御使。又王象之《舆地纪胜》卷104《广南西路》容州：“《容州志》以为元和中始置经略使。与此不同。象之谨按：韩文公韦公墓志云：韦丹为容管经略招讨使《注》云，以正元十七年除。是德宗正元中已有容管经略招讨使，不应新置于元和中也。《容州志》所纪非是。”
（2）《新唐书》卷69《方镇表六》天宝十四载（755年）：“置容州管内经略使，领容、白、禺、牢、繡、党、窦、廉、义、郁林、汤、岩、辩、平琴十四州，治容州（今广西北流县）。”（北京，中华书局，1975年，6册，1934页）按：虽改名，治所及所领州当不改。
（3）《新唐书》卷69《方镇表六》上元元年（760年）：“升容州经略都防御使为观察使。”（北京，中华书局，1975年，6册，1936页）按：姑作上元元年升为容管观察使。",
