五代梁龙德元年（921年）置，治江州（今江西九江市）。领江州。（1）开宝八年（975年）置江南路，属之。（2）
注：
（1）司马光《资治通鉴》卷271《后梁纪六》龙德元年（921年）：十月“乙丑，大赦；加徐知诰同平章事，领江州观察使。寻以江州为奉化军，以知诰领节度使”。（北京，中华书局，1956年，19册，8869页）按：龙德元年，江州从镇南军节度使中分出置江州观察使，但时间短，故作龙德元年置奉化军节度使，治江州（今江西九江市）。所领支州不详，作只领江州。
