五代后晋开运二年（945年），南唐以镇武军改名1。治建州，领建州、泉州、漳州、汀州四州。南唐保大四年（946年）置剑州为支郡，领建州、泉州、漳州、汀州、剑州五州保大六年（948年），割福州尤溪县来属剑州，辖区扩大。后汉乾佑二年（949年）泉、漳二州改属清源军，辖区缩小。后周显德三年（956年），复改名为忠义军2。
