唐建中元年（780年），废浙江东西道都团练观察使置，治苏州（今江苏苏州市）。（1）领有润、江、苏、常、杭、湖、饶七州（2）建中二年（781年）改为浙江东西道节度使。（3）
注：
（1）《新唐书》卷68《方镇表五》：建中元年（780年），“分浙江东西道都团练观察使为二道。”又曰：“复置浙江东道团练观察使。”（北京，中华书局，1975年，6册，1908页）按:当也置浙江西道团练观观察使。浙江西道观察使本治苏州（今江苏苏州市），现当乃治苏州。
（2）浙江西道观察使（766年——778年）本领润、江、苏、常、杭、湖、饶七州。合并为浙江东西道观察使时领十五州。现又复分为二道，浙江西道观察使当乃领原来七州。
（3）《新唐书》卷68《方镇表五》：建中二年（781年），“合浙江东、西二道观察置节度使。”又曰：“废浙江东道都团练观察使，以所管州隶浙江西道。”（北京，中华书局，1975年，6册，1908页）",
