宋靖康年间（1126年），路治自福州复迁于建州，治所即今福建建瓯县1。领州六：福州、建州、泉州、南剑州、漳州、汀州；军二：兴化、邵武2。辖境相当今福建全省3。建炎二年（1128年），路治复迁于福州4。

1，王文楚《北宋诸路转运司的治所》一文，考证自仁宗即位之初，“福建路转运司移还福州”，其后至“宣和时转运使司仍在福州。”（《古代交通地理丛考》，中华书局，1996年，324-325页）。《舆地纪胜》卷128·福建路·建宁府·监司沿革·福建路转运司：“《福州图经》云：建炎二年以建寇故，移转运司于福州。《系年录》云：绍兴二年还建州，三年复移福州，寻仍旧。”（北京，中华书局，1992年，4册，3695页）。据此，福建路治所在宣和之后当有复迁移至建州的事实，才有建炎二年自建州迁福州之事。但史无记载，今作靖康年间迁于建州。

3，宋福建路所领六州、二军境域，为元、明福建省所路、州所沿袭。《明史》卷45·地理六·福建：首府“福州府”，“领府八（福州、兴化、建宁、延平、汀州、邵武、泉州、漳州），直隶州一（福宁州，成化九年三月升为州），属县五十七，北至岭，与浙江界；西至汀州，与江西界；南至诏安，与广东界；东至海。”（北京，中华书局，1974年，4册，1121页）。据此，明福建布政使司辖境与今福建省境域相当，也即为宋代福建路境域。
