即今上海市川沙县西北王港镇。约清乾隆初年形成集市，属南汇县。⑴嘉庆十五年（1810）属川沙厅，⑵1912年属川沙县，至今不变。⑶
⑴初见于乾隆《南汇县新志》。暂以乾隆元年（1736）为集市形成之年。
⑵清宋如林修，孙星衍、莫晋等纂：嘉庆《松江府志》卷2《镇市》：“川沙抚民厅……王家港镇在二十保。”（清嘉庆二十二年（1817）松江府学明伦堂刻本，37页）
⑶上海市川沙县县志编修委员会编《川沙县志》第一卷《建置》“乡政府所在地王港镇，俗称王家港，座落于上川公路西，王家港北岸。解放前，王港原为小镇。现乡商业网点及县、乡企业集中于镇及其附近。文卫设施有中学、小学、卫生院等。”（上海人民出版社，1990年，78页）",
