在今上海市青浦县西南沈巷镇。约明万历初年形成集市。⑴属青浦县，⑵至今不变。⑶
⑴明卓钿修、王圻纂：万历《青浦县志》卷2《镇市》：“沈巷镇在四十三保二区。南通长泖，北通朱家角。”（明万历二十五年（1597）刻本，中国书店1992年《稀见中国地方志汇刊》，1册，1003页下）
⑵于定等修，金咏榴等纂：《青浦县续志》卷2《镇市》：“沈巷镇在四十三保二区三十图，县治西南十八里。见前志。是镇复跨三十一图，北接娄县界。”（1934年刊本，1页）
⑶上海市青浦县县志编纂委员会编《青浦县县志》第二篇《建置》：“沈巷乡坐落于青浦镇西南9公里的淀泖之间。沈巷镇为乡人民政府所在地，相传以三国时沈友隐居于此而得名。……沈巷镇由明初形成，清代康熙间街里场巷有10处之多，居民稠密，贸易兴旺，清末民初遭兵燹而衰落。解放后镇区东迁，现街区长半公里，商业极盛。”（上海人民出版社，1990年，96页）",
