在今上海市松江县西南五厍镇。约清乾隆初形成集市，属娄县。1912年属华亭县，1914年属松江县，至今不变⑴。
⑴清谢庭薰修，陆锡熊纂：乾隆《娄县志》卷3《村镇》：“五舍镇亦曰沪沙，以吾彦口居名。吾、五盖音转而讹。今镇有五舍明王庙，即祀口也。”（清乾隆五十三年（1788）刻本，8页）
上海市松江县地方史志编修委员会编《松江县志》卷1《建置》：“明代形成老吾舍镇，因三国东吴大将吾彦所居，故名。后改五厍。民国22－25年（1933－1936年）间，在老镇东北1公里处建成新，名新五厍。老镇因商店迁往新镇，逐渐衰落成村庄。”（上海人民出版社，1991年，106页）",
