即今上海市金山县西北廊下镇。约清乾隆初形成集市，属金山县，至今不变⑴。
⑴清常琬修、焦以敬等纂：乾隆《金山县志》卷1《镇市》：“姚家廊市在五保吕巷之南。姚氏世居于此。”（清乾隆十七年（1752）刻本，1929年影印本，9页）
清龚宝琦、崔廷镛修，黄厚本等纂：光绪《金山县志》卷1《疆域表》作“姚家廊下”（清光绪四年（1878）刻本，12页）。
上海市金山县县志编纂委员会编《金山县志》第四编《乡镇概况》：“古称景阳，处乡境南部偏东，廊下乡政府所在地，距朱泾镇12公里。居民1165人。明万历间御史大夫、礼部尚书姚景烨曾居于此，人称姚家廊下。
廊下镇地处沪、浙交界，解放前交通不便。抗战前，一度曾设区署于镇。”（上海人民出版社，1990年，148页）",
