即今上海市南汇县航头镇。一作行头，约明初形成聚落，⑴属上海县，清雍正二年（1724）属南汇县，至今不变。⑵
⑴初见于康熙《上海县志》，为市。
清宋如林修，孙星衍、莫晋纂：嘉庆《松江府志》卷2《镇市》：“航头镇在十九保。明时有盐仓名斜角仓，商牙多聚于此。”（清嘉庆二十二年（1817）松江府学明伦堂刻本，31页）
清金福曾修、张文虎等纂：光绪《南汇县志》卷1《疆域志》：“行头镇一名航头，邑西三十六里，明时有盐仓名斜角仓，候商牙行多聚此。东西街约里许，陈氏、严氏俱发科，遂多士族。”（清光绪五年（1879）刻本，1927年重印本，14页）据此，以明洪武元年（1368）为航头聚落形成年代。⑵上海市南汇县县志编纂委员会编《南汇县志》第二编《建置》：“航头镇为乡政府所在地，距县城16公里。早在明代，航头就建有盐仓，名斜角仓。官方牙行在此设店经商，东西街长约半公里。镇南的闸港和镇东的咸塘港上，是水上商运货物的码头，故称航头，又呼古航里。”（上海人民出版社，1992年，96页）",
