清光绪《桐乡县志》卷3《驿铺》：“永新铺，在永新乡运可塘北，到县二十里。……以上三铺宣德五年自崇德县拨隶本县。每铺邮亭屋宇与县前铺同，俱正德八年重造，司兵额亦同。”其志《桐乡县境总图》在桐乡县治东北“运河北岸有永新”与清宗源瀚等纂、民国徐则恂等修订：《浙江全省舆图并水陆道里记》（杭州，武林印书馆，1915年）之《桐乡县五里方图》在桐乡县东北十余里运河边有永新桥同，故永新铺即在今桐乡县东北运河北岸。",
