《刘河镇纪略》卷1：明成化十八年，“都指挥郭鋐筑刘河城于刘家港之北岸，周围三里。……时称城曰刘河城，镇曰天妃镇。”
该书引顾士琏《白公渠记》：顺治十一年，浚河“自鲁漕至天妃镇南出刘河。”
又载：嘉庆十七年，开大刘河，据苏松太兵备道钟琦查勘，“自盐铁口西大坝起至刘河镇军工厂基东大坝止，实系淤塞。”又卷2载：嘉庆二十一年，“刘河镇有东转河一条，系鲁漕、朱泾出纳海水之咽喉。”
又载：周述亭先生《序》：“若非先生为之历历叙明，不几疑刘河镇为无所关系之区乎！”时嘉庆二十一年季冬之朔，周承祖拜撰。
据上所引，清嘉庆时已成镇，又据《刘河镇纪略》载，时属镇洋县。
即今江苏太仓县东浏河镇。",
