嘉庆《清一统志》卷103《太仓州一·关隘》：“璜泾镇在州东北六十里。”
樊树志《明清江南市镇控微》引明弘治《太仓州志》为璜泾市，引正德《姑苏志》称璜泾市，为太仓十市之一，嘉靖《南畿志》也称璜泾市，清尹继善等修、黄之隽纂：乾隆《江南通志》所载太仓州市镇中，璜泾镇已与双凤镇、沙头镇并列为太仓三大镇。则镇迟至雍正年间已形成。即今江苏省太仓县北璜泾。",
