嘉庆《清一统志》卷302《严州府一·关隘》：“新市镇，在寿昌县东十五里，宋都临安时，此为孔道。”清宗源瀚等纂、民国徐则恂等修订：《浙江全省舆图并水陆道里记》（杭州，武林印书馆，1915年）寿昌县图，县治北有新市，在更楼镇的西北。雍正六年行顺庄法，新市编制为庄，嘉庆时已发展成镇。今浙江建德县寿昌镇东北更楼镇寿昌溪水西部分。",
