嘉庆《清一统志》卷74《江宁府二·关隘》：“新江关，即西新关，在江宁县西江东门外，出中新河渡二十里，达江浦口。……本朝康熙十年，始以西新税务并入龙港。”
《读史方舆纪要》卷20江宁府：“新江关，在江东门外，出中新河，渡江二十里，达江浦口，明初置江东巡司，兼置驿于此，亦曰新江口。”
按明嘉靖《南畿志》卷5《建牧》：“江东巡检司，原在新江关外。”据《纪要》所云，关当设于明初。
据1984年《南京市地名录》之《南京市地名图》，在今江苏南京市西南新河口。",
