清清乾隆《江宁新志》卷6《建置志》：“大城港镇，在县西南沙洲乡，通大江，为要地，有大胜关及水马驿。”清嘉庆《江宁府志》卷12《建置》：“大城港镇，江宁县西南沙洲乡，通大江，为要地，有大胜关。”则乾隆、嘉庆时设大城港镇。嘉庆《清一统志》卷74《江宁府二·关隘》：“大胜关，在江宁县西南三十里，其地有大城港，……亦曰大城港镇，明初，……置大胜关，兼置巡司，今裁。”则大城港镇曾置大胜关。
按《至正金陵新志》卷4上《镇市》：“大城港镇，在江宁县西南七十里”。明正德《江宁县志》上《市镇》：“大城港镇，在县西南四十里，今有大胜关及水马驿。”则元至正前置镇，历明、清相继承袭。
据1978年《南京市地名录》之《南京市地名图》，在今江苏南京市西南大胜关。",
