（2）清《嘉庆一统志》卷350《宜昌府•古迹》巴山故城：“在长阳县西。”（《四部丛刊续编》，商务印书馆，1934年，130册，16页）民国《湖北通志》卷20《舆地志•古迹》长阳县巴山故县：“在县西九十里。”（台湾，华文书局，民国十年重刊本，1967年，1册，558页）按：据牛汉平《清代政区沿革综表•湖北省总表》，宜昌府长阳县即今湖北省长阳县。（北京，中国地图出版社，1990年，239页）郑宝恒《民国时期政区沿革•北京政府时期》湖北省荆南道长阳县治，即今县治龙舟坪。（武汉市，湖北教育出版社，2000年，94页）在今长阳县西八十余里有巴山河，（《湖北省地图集》，湖北省地图集编纂委员会，武汉，1965年，74——75页）疑是。而《太平寰宇记》卷147《山南东道六•峡州》长阳县废巴山县：“在县南七十里。……今县北有山曲折似巴字，因以为名。”（金陵书局，光绪八年刊本，26册，6页）疑此“南”乃“西”之误。
